Carmen Spitznagel lives and works in Waldberg, a village in the Bavarian Rhön. Spitznagel makes visible reference to her adopted homeland in parts of her current work: taking her subjects from her immediate surroundings is one thing, another is its creative implementation. Thus developing her own technique: in some cases, Spitznagel consistently deals with a subject over several years. The resulting series show us that Spitznagel´s view on reality is an interpretation of personal experience and perception. These almost surrealistic photographs of landscapes and sceneries are the result of the artists unerring instinct for poetic moments and mystical moods. Masterfully she implies the different genres such as landscapes, interiors or simple objects. Carmen´s passion is black and white photography and she has been very successful at numerous international photography competitions, her work can be seen at numerous international exhibitions.
